Elevation 1904
About This Spot
Stepping into Elevation 1904 feels like arriving at a lively crossroads between hearty mountain fare and the warmth of a well-loved local bar. Nestled just steps from Chamonix’s train station, the space hums with an easygoing energy—a mix of travelers, families, and locals sharing casual moments over generous plates and clinking glasses. The pace here ebbs and flows with the day, from the early morning comfort of coffee and fresh croissants, to buzzing weekend evenings where laughter and conversation fill the air.
There’s a genuine warmth in the atmosphere that goes beyond the simple pleasures of food and drink; it’s a place where mountain adventures and everyday rhythms meet around the table. Whether you’re unwinding after a day on the slopes or grabbing an early bite before setting off, Elevation 1904 offers a kind of grounded hospitality that feels both familiar and refreshingly sincere. The friendly buzz ensures the staff move with practiced ease, balancing attentiveness with a relaxed kindness that invites you to linger a little longer.
The menu reflects this in its comforting size and spirit. Burgers here arrive robust and unapologetically generous, each bite echoing the alpine heartiness that the valley is known for. From richly layered French bacon cheese creations to unexpected touches like hash browns and peppercorn sauce, each plate carries a whispered nod to local tastes without ever feeling contrived. Salads and sides don’t shy away from generosity either, offering color and texture that complement the main attractions like a well-poured beer or a glass of prosecco unwinding alongside the meal.
This is not a place for rush or pretension but a haven where good food and good company come together in a way that’s thoughtfully unpretentious. It’s a spot where kids feel at home with well-priced menus designed just for them, and where groups can find space to settle in for an afternoon or evening of simple pleasures. Whether you’re passing through Chamonix or returning again and again like many do, Elevation 1904 holds a familiar charm—a reminder that some of the best local experiences lie in places that feel like a second living room, complete with the comfort of a solid burger, a friendly nod from the staff, and the subtle hum of shared moments unfolding quietly all around you.

This place is great!!! We’ve tried a few places in Cham but this was our favourite so went back a couple of times. Food is excellent value for money compared to many others. Teenagers loved it too. Burgers are huge and the best I’ve had in a long while. Salads are amazing too but be warned they’re not small… which is great too. Service was really quick and pretty friendly considering how busy they get. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

The most authentic French double bacon cheese burger I've ever had. Seriously though, the food was great. The toilet kind of resembled a prison bathroom, but the food was fantastic.

Great burgers and beer right by Chamonix train station. Best value children's menu we found on our trip. We went 2 nights in a row. Classic burger and wedges was delicious but really recommend the peak burger with the hash brown and peppercorn sauce.

I was recommended to visit this restaurant, and it was great! The burger and salad I had were the best I ever had. Special thanks to Thomas and Jil for their impeccable service and hospitality.

Best atmosphere in Chamonix for drinks and food with friendly staff. We came here a couple of times first for drinks on a busy Saturday evening. Then for food on a Sunday lunchtime. Both times the staff although very busy were really friendly and made an effort. The menu had a lot of choice and although we only shared loaded wedges we wanted to try more but it didn’t start till 5pm. Would recommend!

A nice burgerplace on the side of the street. Nice robust tables and good staff. Close to the trainstation but it didnt bothe me. The food was good, the fries were crisp and the burger was very good (I ordered the biggest on of course). Not very cheap but still worth it.

Service was fast and my server was very nice and attentive. My mocktail was delicious. I also had chicken wings and fries. Both came out piping hot! So that meant it was fresh and it also tasted very good!
